SPRING 2012 Distinguished Lecture: Dr. Wayne Clough, Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution.

Wayne Clough has served as the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution since 2008. Prior to this, he was president of the Georgia Institute of Technology, which underwent significant growth, improved retention and graduate rates, and increased nationwide rankings during his presidency (1994-2008). Clough has served on the President’s Council of Science and Technology, and the National Science Board. A member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and of the National Academy of Engineering, he has received numerous awards including two Norman Medals and a George Westinghouse Award for his contributions to engineering science and education.
